Located in our refurbished 'skittle alley' we will be bringing you brilliant regional French food and an extensive wine list to accompany your food.
Philippe de Azevedo will be leading the auberge. Philippe has huge experience of running French restaurants and will be bringing his gallic flair to complement our Englishness.
The entent cordiale has arrived in Hammersmith.

Pub of The Year
We are delighted to have won two prestigious recognitions at the annual Morning Advertisier Awards. We won 'Best Pub In London' and 'Best Managed Pub' in the UK. I would like to thank you all for the feedback and ideas I have received since arriving here in May 2008.
We have lots of plans for the spring and summer months and look forward to welcoming you.

My name is Chris Kemp and I am delighted to say that the pub has been mine for well over two years now. I have lived in Hammersmith for many years and have always loved this pub. As a local I see it as a major part of my job that we place The Black Lion squarely at the heart of our community.
The Black Lion is a situated in a wonderful position on the northern bankside of the Thames. We have kept the traditional pub feel and complimented it with modern menus, superb real ales, an eclectic wine list and a friendly informal atmosphere. We always have three real ales pourring and have regular guest seasonal ales. We are Cask Marque accredited too.
Our new restaurant L'Auberge is now open serving traditional and classic French food with an extensive wine list. Click on our menu page to view the examples.
We cater for families, particularly at weekends, and most of our dishes can be tailored for children. We also welcome dogs too and they will be treated to an ice cold bowl of water and a doggie treat on arrival.
There are board games for adults and children, newspapers, and a playground on the riverbank next to the pub.
Weekly events at The Black Lion include Monday Gourmet Sausage & Mash, Real Ale Night on Tuesdays, Wednesday Wine Specials with Bingo, Thursday is Quiz night, Friday we have Fresh Fish Specials, Cocktails on Saturday Night and Live Music on Sundays along with our delicious traditional roast dinners - You wont find 'Aunt Bessie' on our kitchen!
We start up our live music events this Sunday 5th September kicking off with local duo 'The Departed'. See our what's on guide tab for the complete line up of acts this month.

We have always tried to capture the essence of France in the photographic artwork at our auberges. John Brunton has been a photojournalist for almost 30 years and specialising in food and restaurants and he has provided us with these images since the very inception of the auberges .
